Meet Deidra

Deidra Brooks (she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Worker (MSW011374) who works with young and midlife adults navigating depression, anxiety, chronic stress, relationship and family conflict, and life transitions.

Deidra’s work centers BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ experiences, with a passion for supporting leaders, caregivers, and professionals who carry significant responsibility while feeling overwhelmed, self-critical, or disconnected from their own needs.

Deidra’s style is warm, collaborative, reflective, and gently challenging. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing within an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach. Her aim is to help clients understand the patterns that once helped them survive, recognize when those patterns no longer serve them, and develop new ways of caring for and advocating for themselves.

As a first-generation college graduate born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Deidra brings warmth, soul, and groundedness into her clinical work. Deidra believes healing begins in a space where clients do not have to translate or defend the experiences that have shaped them. She views symptoms within the full context of a person’s identity, relationships, culture, family roles, lived experiences, and the systems they navigate.

Deidra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Christian Brothers University and a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. Her professional journey spans community mental health, private practice, crisis intervention, social intervention research, nonprofit leadership, and program development.

Deidra is a multi-passionate creative who finds joy in travel, music, learning, spending time with loved ones, and intentional rest. When she’s not in session, you will find her curating wellness experiences, crafting, or dancing to her favorite playlists.
