What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that can help you break through the mental blocks that are keeping you from living an emotionally healthy life. EMDR uses a set of procedures to organize your negative and positive feelings, emotions, and thoughts, and then uses bilateral stimulation – such as eye movements or tapping – as a way to help you effectively work through distressing memories. This process helps you update your memories to a healthier, present perspective.

EMDR can be used to treat:

  • Anxiety and panic attacks

  • Chronic illness

  • Depression

  • Grief and loss

  • PTSD and other trauma and stress-related issues
