Meet Briana

Briana Farlow (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (CSW #007434) in the state of Georgia. She works with women ready to heal from traumatic experiences, anxiety, anger, and relationship issues. In addition, she enjoys helping clients strengthen their interpersonal communication skills by learning how to express their emotions and assert themselves. 

Briana has experience working with adults 18 to 99+ in community mental health, hospice, and dialysis settings. She uses a blend of therapeutic techniques and evidence-based modalities to support her clients. Briana's therapy strengths include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).

Briana is a Black woman and a first-generation college graduate. She understands the complex struggles and barriers that often come with being the "first'' to do things. She empathizes with others navigating their unique version of generational firsts. She was raised in a military family and is passionate about working with active and retired military members and their families. Briana is an LGBTQIA+ affirming practitioner and deeply cares about creating and maintaining a safe space for her clients to show up as their authentic selves. Clients describe Briana as down-to-earth, attentive, direct, and open-minded. Briana believes that each person has the innate ability to heal when provided the appropriate tools and support.

Briana earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia. She also holds minors in African American Studies and Communication Studies. Additionally, Briana completed a one-year MSW practicum at the Veterans Affairs Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Athens, GA working with veterans in individual and group therapy.

In her spare time, Briana enjoys roller skating, arts & crafts, watching historical documentaries, trying new restaurants, and listening to Beyoncé.
